Dear OAAs, OAs and Friends of Aysgarth,

I am delighted to introduce the Old Aysgarthian Community Portal, launched in good time to support the sense of community we hope to build as we celebrate 150 years of Aysgarth in 2027. 

This is a dedicated online home for everyone with a connection to Aysgarth - OAs, current and former parents, former staff, and the wider Aysgarth family. It is where you can update your details, find old friends, browse events, explore the archive, and stay in touch with school news. We particularly hope it will become a place where our younger OAs, just starting out, can find support, advice, and mentorship from those further down the road.

At the end of June 2026, the OAA welcomed its first cohort of girls since the move to co-education in 2024 - thirteen young women who left having been part of something historic. I look forward to the day, not too many years from now, when they join us at the London Drinks; in the meantime, there is plenty to enjoy, including OA cricket and the Carol Service.

The move to co-education, alongside our closer relationship with Rugby School, has exceeded all expectations. Demand for girls' boarding has grown beyond anything anticipated, and the school is adding thirty new boarding beds in direct response. With 170 pupils in the Prep School and 80% boarding, Aysgarth remains true to what has always made it special - the numbers will never grow beyond the capacity of the Chapel, where every day still begins, as it always has. In a sector facing real and well-documented pressures, Aysgarth is bucking the trend, and that is something we should all feel proud of.
